Happy Thanksgiving
It is Thanksgiving Day and my husband Jim has just filed for divorce. Yes, that Jim. The 90% of my happy Jim. The farm dreams Jim. The Wolfie and Logan Jim. The mother-in-law that just passed away Jim. The I give thanks everyday Jim.
So in keeping with the holiday, I am giving thanks.
1. To my family. Still thousands of miles away. Their support has just blown me away.
2. To all of the people who extended dinner invitations. I've never had so many invitations in my life.
3. To the promise of all the friendships I never had time for. I had Jim, right?
4. To this house. From the very first moment I walked in it felt like home. It shields me now with its quiet and its warmth.
5. To the future. I haven't a fucking clue what's going to happen to me. For the past five and a half years I have loved this man and I have loved his children and I truly loved the woman that brought him into this world. That's got to count for something.
So to my family, I love you. To all the folks that opened their hearts and homes to me, I am speechless with gratitude. And to love. I still believe.
